My name is Deborah Hallenbeck.  I am a retired special education teacher. As part of a military family, we have traveled widely. We now split our time between Virginia Beach, Virginia (in the winter) and Westerlo, New York (in the summer.)

My interest in art began early in life as my mother was an amateur artist and photographer.  For the first fifty years of my life, my involvement in art was primarily as a viewer/ collector but, as any elementary teacher can tell you, a little artistic talent can be an asset.  For years I dabbled in art activities designed to motivate my students to achieve academically.   After I retired, I began to attend watercolor workshops and art classes offered by the local colleges and art community both in Virginia and New York.

At my age, I feel very fortunate to have found this lovely mode of expression and thank you for letting me share it with you.
